AGE or SUN SPOTS & FRECKLES REMOVAL

Age spots are flat brown, gray, or black spots on the skin. Age spots are also called liver spots, senile lentigo, solar lentigines, or sun spots. They can be frustrating to deal with as they seemingly appear out of nowhere, and they can also be a somewhat embarrassing indicator of age. Fortunately age spots can be effectively treated with laser specifically tuned to take them off in 1-2 sessions.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1. Do you use laser or IPL (Intense Pulse Light) for treatment?

We have both but prefer to use our state-of-the art picosecond laser specifically tuned to treat age spots. It is much more effective than IPL due to diffused and less concentrated nature of IPL. IPL can also be used for large areas, however it takes 6-8 treatments and also effects the hair and blood vessels.

2. How soon will I be able to see improvement and what results can I expect?

A decrease in the appearance of unwanted pigment in the treated area is obtained with just 1 treatment. After that the treated spots will gradually disappear within a few weeks or month. One or two laser treatments are in most cases sufficient to remove or at least significantly decrease the appearance of unwanted freckles, age spots, birth marks, and other types of pigmented lesions in the treated area.

3. Is the treatment painful?

You may experience a mild, sun-burn like and tingling sensation sometimes accompanied by some minor swelling, immediately following the treatment. This usually lasts 2 to 24 hours. We will discuss other possible side-effects and the necessary post-treatment care during your FREE consultation. We can offer topical numbing cream for maximum patient comfort.

4. How long does the procedure take?

The treatment priced by time as the treatment areas vary on density of pigments. Single area session takes 15 minutes or less and should be sufficient to treat most of the pigments of medium density. The price will be determined during FREE consultation based upon your specific needs.

5. Is there any downtime? Is it safe?

For most patients there is no downtime, allowing you to return to your normal activities immediately after! Complications are very rare. In less than 1-3% of cases, skin lightening or darkening may occur. Blistering is rare. We suggest use a sun block one month following the treatment.
